Park & Pavilion Rules
PARK RULES

The City of Martin Parks & Recreation Department provides these facilities for your convenience and enjoyment. Successful operation of this park depends upon your cooperation and compliance with the following rules and regulations.

1) Park closes at 10:00 p.m.

2) Speed Limit 15 mph

3) NO alcoholic beverages or weapons allowed

4) NO motorized vehicle is allowed off the roadway.

5) NO amplified sound except by permit

6) NO glass containers allowed at the plex areas, playground or walking trail.

7) NO tobacco products allowed in the plex areas or at the playground.

8) NO vehicles, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, etc... in the plex area or on the walking trail.

9) NO climbing on structures or fences in the plex, well and pump areas.

10) NO Swimming or Diving

11) NO outside food, drinks or coolers allowed in the plex areas.

12) NO fishing allowed except as scheduled by the Parks & Recreation Department.

13) CAUTION - Pedestrians have the right of way

14) Horses are not allowed

15) Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

16) All pets must be kept on a leash (not to exceed 6 feet).

17) Foot traffic ONLY with the exception of wheelchairs and strollers at the plex areas and walking trail.

18) Camping and overnight stays are prohibited unless authorized by the Parks & Rec. Department.

19) Place all garbage and refuse in trash cans or dumpsters.

20) Fires shall be confined to grills or other appropriate facilities.

21) Do not cut, damage, pull up or drive nails into trees or shrubs and do not pick flowers.

22) Fireworks are prohibited in the park.

23) Bathrooms at the picnic pavilions are open to public during park hours-March 1 thru October 31.

24) All other federal, state and local laws and ordinances will be strictly enforced.

25) Report all disturbances to P & R Office (587-6784) or the Martin Police Department (587-5355).

Call 911 for emergencies.

PICNIC PAVILION RULES

Volunteers Needed


Special activities are always fun to plan, but sometimes it takes more people to ensure a successful event than we have on staff. If you see an activity you would like to be a part of, please call us — 731-587-6784. We can always find a place for you to volunteer.


Mission Statement

It shall be the purpose and objective of the Martin Parks and Recreation Department to provide wholesome recreational activities, as well as clean, well-maintained facilities for the entire community. The department shall continue to improve existing facilities and programs, while implementing new ones, within finacial limits. The department will continue to provide leadership which will enhance the quality of life in our community.

Employment

The Martin Parks and Recreation Department employs numerous part-time employees annually for various positions throughout the year. The type of work varies from lifeguards to concession workers and ground maintenance. A qualified staff is always sought for various programs. Call us or stop by the Parks and Recreation Department Office.

Insurance

Individual accident health insurance is not provided by the Martin Parks and Recreation Department. Participants are encouraged to obtain their own insurance coverage prior to and for the duration of the activity they take part in from their own insurance agent. By applying for these programs, the registrant realizes the inherent risks involved in the programs and appreciates the nature of risk and will hold Martin Parks and Recreation Department harmless for any damages caused by participation in the program.
