The CE Weldon Library is located downtown Martin, TN and offers both traditional services as well as a electronic library services.  In traditional services, the library provides books, videos, CDs, DVDs, audio books, bestsellers, story hours, summer reading programs, and book discussion groups.  They host many community events throughout the year as well as regularly schedule library services.  For more information about the library, visit their website at www.ceweldonlibrary.org.

The community also has the ability to take advantage of the Paul Meek Library on the University of Tennessee at Martin campus.  The library offers books, articles/databases, journals, media center, and a special collections area. Fine Arts

The University of Tennessee at Martin’s Visual and Theatre Art department hosts the Vanguard Theatre and Fine Arts Gallery.  The Vanguard Theatre’s product company provides 2 or 3 mainstage productions each year as well as a number of lab theatre plays.  The auditions are open to all students and area resident.  This allows for participation in acting, stage-managing, technical aspects, and design and construction of sets and costumes of a theatre production. The University of Tennessee at Martin’s Music department offers an opportunity for musicians of all ages in the Martin Community Band. The Martin Community Band performs 4 times during the summer at Festival Park.  For more information about the Martin Community Band, click here to visit their webpage.

Community Band



The city’s public schools system participate in basketball, football, soccer, cheerleading, softball, and baseball and welcome the communities attendance in support of the local schools.  Visit each of the schools to find out more about their athletics programs.  Links to those schools can be found on our education page.

The University of Tennessee at Martin participates in baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, rifle, rodeo, soccer, softball, women’s tennis, and volleyball.  The university is part of the OVC conference.  There is always a sporting events on the calendar to attend and cheer on the Skyhawks.  The Athletics Department also offers camps for many of the sports lists.  For more information, visit www.utmsports.com.
