The Human Resources Department is responsible for assisting administration in the areas of hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, and long term staffing strategies. Responsibilities include development and administration of personnel rules and regulations, pay and job classification structure, and programs for employee training safety, health, and morale. The Human Resources Manager’s office is located at Martin City Hall.

 Martin Fire|Rescue|EMS : Firefighter-Paramedic 

The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, goal-oriented individual possessing a desire to make a difference in the lives of the community served.

The successful candidate will have a work schedule 24 hours on and 48 hours off.

Starting Base Salary: $55,370 annually

Minimum Requirements Are:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Be a citizen of the United States of America.
  3. Have a High School Diploma or proof of G.E.D.
  4. Possession of a valid Driver’s License with F Endorsement.
  5. Possess a valid Tennessee Department of Health Paramedic License.

Requirements Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:

  1. Pass a Medical Physical Examination.
  2. Pass a Drug Screening Test.
  3. Pass a background investigation consisting of local, state, and national criminal record check, financial, medical, military, and educational records check.
  4. Successfully Complete In-House Training to the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy Basic/Live Firefighting Curriculum within probationary period, Unless Proof of Completion can be Submitted.

Successful candidate will have an initial probationary period of 24 months.
