38th Annual Santa’s Village

 

One of our favorite local holiday traditions is back December 8th through the 11th.
This custom designed Santa’s Village is put together by the Martin Parks & Recreation Department. Santa’s Village features 25,000 square feet of Christmas family fun including a petting farm, Popes Rides, Black & Decker Model Train display, an enchanted forest with 40+ holiday displays, and of course Santa Claus. Shop from 50+ arts & crafts vendors selling unique handmade items. Some unique vendor items include hand made crochet & quilts, custom monograming, characture drawings, duck decoys & Texas Rigs, pet accessories, fresh & freeze dried food items, wood turning, and custom sublimation printing.
This is a 4 day events located inside the Ned Mcwherter Ag Pavilion at 111 Moody Ave. There is no admission fee, however a suggested donation is accepted of $5 worth of non perishable food or new children’s toys.

A Christmas Carol Live

Celebrate the Christmas season in Martin, Tennessee, with the live youth production of A Christmas Carol, presented by Weakley Playhouse & the City of Martin. A Christmas Carolencourages each of us to be kind and spread cheer throughout the year.

A Christmas Carol will be performed on The Stage adjacent to the City of Martin Public Library and an outdoor venue of 300 chairs are available for sale. ALL PROCEEDS FROM TICKET SALES BENEFIT WEAKLEY PLAYHOUSE.

Reserved Chairback tickets are $10. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets. Outdoor heaters will be placed throughout the seating area. Performance dates are December 8, 9, & 10. December 10th will have 2 performance times. Each performance will begin at 7PM and will last approximately 2 hours, including a 15 minute intermission.

Thursday, Dec. 8th – 7:00pm

Friday, Dec. 9th – 7:00pm

Saturday, Dec. 10th – 4:30pm(understudy show) & 7:00pm

Public restrooms will be available in the Martin Event Center and concessions will be avaliable for purchase.

The Weakley Playhouse program offers drama and theatre opportunities for students of the Weakley County School system. Weakley Playhouse produces 3-4 shows a year. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to learn more.

See Santa in Martin 

 

Santa is making a few special stops in Downtown Martin. 

Santa visits are free and open to the public. You can visit Santa, drop off your wish list, and snap a picture. Santa will be in Martin on December 16, 20, & 23.  Times for each visit will be from 3pm till 7pm. 

Santa will be in two different locations.

  • December 20th – Martin Event Center (indoor venue)
    • 89 Central Street 
  • December 16th & 23rd – Santa’s House located under the Martin Famers Market (outdoor venue)
    • 101 Main Street

Light Up Martin Christmas Tree Lighting 

Light Up Martin is back. This annual celebration of the City of Martin Christmas Tree Lighting features a free Fireworks  display and offically kicks off the Christmas season in Martin. This event is Saturday, December 3rd from 4:00pm till 8:00pm  and is located in Festival Park in the Downtown Martin area. 
Pope’s Carnival Ride will be open and free for attendees. Rides this year include the mini train, mini car spinner, classic carousel, giant swing, and giant slide. 

This years live music will feature the central Baptist Church Childrens Choir and the Live Brass Band Ensemble. Visit with Santa on the main stage after the fireworks show.

 S’mores Fire Pit Stations will be open and free for patrons. These stations are generously sponsored by Vantage Coffee Roasters & the Weakley County Prevention Coalition.If you’re feeling hungry, grab a bite from our amazing Food Truck & Pope’s Concessions lineup.

Christmas Parade

 

The annual Christmas Parade is a small town holiday tradition you don’t want to miss. The Martin Christmas parade is hosted by the local Martin Kiwanis Club. Each year the parade has a new theme, the 2022 theme is Christmas Joy.  The parade begins at the UT Martin Football Stadium and continues down University Street and Lindell Street through Downtown Martin.

Join us for the 2022 Christmas parade on Monday , December 5th. The parade begins at 7:00pm and usually ends about 8:00pm depening and number of participants.
